Sh-tstorm (“we”, “our”, “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Sh-tstorm mobile app and website (together, the “Service”).

Personal Information (Optional)

  • Name/Username — entered by you to personalise weather forecasts and push notifications.

Location data —

  • Approximate (city-level) location if you grant ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.
  • More precise GPS-level location if you grant ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, use the “pin” button, and approve browser/device location prompts.
  • If permissions are denied, we use IP-based geolocation (approximate only).

Device Information

  • Push notification tokens (device identifiers) for sending you updates.
  • App preferences (temperature units, spelling choices).

Analytics and Crash Reports

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — loaded only with your explicit consent, with IP anonymisation enabled. Used to understand app usage and improve features.
  • Sentry — collects anonymous crash reports to identify and fix technical issues.

Future Advertising

In future versions, we may include ads. Advertisers may use their own technologies to measure ad performance and personalise ads, subject to user consent where required.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide personalised weather forecasts and notifications.
  • Improve the Service’s performance, stability, and usability.
  • Communicate important updates.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We only share limited information with:

  • Service providers such as Google (analytics) and Sentry (error reporting).
  • Law enforcement or authorities if required by law.

  • Optional personal data (name, location) is stored until you delete the app or request deletion.
  • Crash logs and analytics data are retained for as long as necessary for troubleshooting and service improvement.

  • All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.
